The Rathskellor (The Rat)

This place has some experienced bartenders who can make a delicious drink. The food is amazing but there isn't huge portions like some places. It's a small place and packed most of the time. They have a tent outside to stand under to smoke.

The Stables Martini & Cigar Bar

They have a nice outside patio but the service was terrible! The waiter got our drinks wrong and didn't know how much he was supposed to charge us. The inside is cool looking and you can rent a hookah because it's a cigar bar. The music was decent and they have a big dance floor. There were some old men creepers staring down the younger ladies.

Jakes South Inn

Jakes is a pretty big place. It has multiple pool tables and karaoke. It is a great place for dancing and has a nice sized dance floor. The DJ was realy good. The drinks were okay but not great and it was packed so I had to wait to get a while to get served. Pretty nice place overall and I will definitely go again.

I don't know about the bathroom here because I didn't use it.

O'hares Bar and Grill

O'hares has amazing jalepeno poppers! You get 10 instead of 5 like most places which was a plus for me. This is a great place for food! Everything I had was great. Drinks are okay but if you are sitting down eating you might only get one drink unless you go up to the bar. It always seems to be busy with no where to sit but that's because the food really is that good. Not much for entertainment.

Bemo's

Bemo's is good if you like crappy garage bands. Not all of the music is bad but most of it is. Sometimes the place reeks of piss so bad I didn't even want to stay. The drinks are more expensive then most places but the waitress was nice and speedy. No other real entertainment besides bands. not a place I really like to go to.

Duso's Bar and Grill

Worst sex on the beach ever! The only thing that impressed me about this place is that the bar was designed to look like a ship so it was cool. They have a pool table. It was extremely hot! They had all kinds of fans blowing but it didn't help. They also have lots of chandeliers for some reason.

Silver Palace

The Silver Palace in Essexville is more of an eatery. There is a pool table and TVs but not much else. Keno is big here though. Beware that they only have a couple fryers so if someone orders in front of you there will be a twenty minute wait. The one bartender didn't even know what was in a sex on the beach, he had to go get the other worker to make it for him.

Madison Street Pub

This bar was empty when I went. It is nicely decorated and the bathrooms were pretty clean. The bartender was a bitch and last call was really early. It took forever to get a drink because she was talking to the one other person in the bar besides our party. She said last call and when we went to get one she wouldnt serve us! We werent there long. My drink was medicore. They have a shuffleboard and pool table. I wont be going there again.

The Big House

This is the most fun bar I've been to on Midland street thus far! They have video games, a DJ, dance floor, pool tables, beanbag toss, table room, darts, ect! They have fun theme nights and the service was fast and the bartenders were fun!
The bathrooms on the other hand were awful! there was no toilet paper, the floors were sticky and a stall didn't have a door! DONT USE THE BATHROOMS!
The drinks were delicious.

Old Tyme Broadway

This bar is pretty large with lots of room to sit. It was a Saturday night when i went and there wasnt many people and the ones that were in there were kinda old. They have karoke, shuffleboard and pool tables and the food was really good. The drinks were kind of expensive. A long island was $8. The bartender was young and friendly and kept my drink full. I would go to this bar again.

Midland Street Jacks

This bar was packed so full that i waited for 15 minutes and couldnt even get a drink. The floor was extremely sticky and there was no where to sit. I had a guy run up behind me when i was dancing with my girlfriend and rub his genitalia on the back of my leg like a dog. The only cool thing was they dont care if you dance on the table. There was a huge line to ge to the bathroom. They have a nice little deck outside but they kicked everyone off it at midnight! I wont be going here again. I dont believe they had any entertainment either.

The Spinning wheel

The spinning wheel is small and it gets packed. THey have cool events like a prom dress party but beware that on some nights this is a pure swingers bar! They have all kinds of entertainment. Pool tables, a dance floor, dart boards, shuffle board. There drinks are also really good and the bartender are nice and sexii!
My main complaint is that there is only a one stall bathroom and the wait was outrageous to get there. I enjoyed this bar though.

Buffalo Wild Wingz

Buffalo Wild Wings on Wilder road is a great place if you want food and drinks. The food is great and the drinks are too. They have great strawberry daiquiris!
There is a bar area or normal seating area and you can see multiple TV's from anywhere in the place. They have a great menu and there waitstaff is nice and speedy. There dining area and bathrooms are very clean. They are open until 2 everyday except Sundays when they are open until 1. I really love BWW and it is also a great family place.
They have games for kids to play and electronic games for adults. Its a pretty fun place!

North Pointe Lounge

More of an eatery, no entertainment except for tvs, drinks are ok. You get a lot of beer for your money but the daquiri was absolute crap. Bathrooms were clean, 3 of 5 and the waitstaff is old and kind of slow. The food is delicious though! They give you free popcorn while you wait.

Malickey's Pub

great bar to sit at, nice bartenders, gay bar, pool table, darts, huge tv in the corner, great live dj, empty on pajama party night, best sex on the beach

The Bier Garden

This isnt much of a bar during the day but is more of a family eatery. They have a deck that looks at Hot N Now across the street. There really isnt much point in it but it a nice deck. The service was fast and it looked like most of the food was great. The jalepeno poopers were amazing but the Southwest Burger wasnt very good. the bun was soggy and it just didnt work. Maybe it was just my taste but everyone else enjoyed their food. They even have cute mini tacos otherwise the menu was a typical bar menu.

There drinks were okay. The strawberry daquiri was only medicore and ive had much better but they have a good selection of different drinks.

There really isnt much for entertainment. no pool tables, darts or music.

The bathroom was clean and so were the tables.

Hi, I'm Mandi and I just turned 21 this month! I was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan so I know that this town is all about the bar scene. Now that I'm 21 my goal is to go to all the bars in Bay City and find the best ones. I realize that going to all these bars is going to take a while but I think it will be fun.

I want to know which bars have the best food, drinks, bartenders, music, dancing, or whatever they have. This is my first blog and I'm mainly doing this so I can keep track of which bars are good but I feel like other people should know about the bars too.

Bishop's Inn

Bishop's Inn is located at 804 S. Farragut Street in Bay City. There is loud music and the lights are dimmed. There are two pool tables lots of seating available. The arrangement of the bar is nice with 2 rooms.

The food is good but a little more expensive than other bars.

Some of the bartenders are cool and some arent as cool. A bartender went from friendly to bitch in just a few minutes. Another bartender is so much fun, even after shes had a few.

I wasnt very impressed with this bar but will be going to give it a second chance.

The second time there was much better. There was a different bartender and there werent many people in the bar so it was like a private party. This bar is all about the night of the week and who's the bartender. Some nights they arent even open until midnight! You never know when they are going to be open and hope for a good bartender!

Bay City Bill's Bar and Grill

Bay City Bill's Bar and Grill is located on 1215 Michigan Avenue by 32nd Street. This was the second bar I went in to after I turned 21 and it is so far my favorite. It is good whether you visit in the daytime when it is a good place for the whole family to go eat or watch a game on their TV's or at night when the bar life is in full swing. The atmosphere is great and they also have beer pong tournaments.

The staff is so friendly. During the day the lady came and quickly got us our drinks and took our order and our food was out in a timely manner. She was smiling and joking with us and the family next to us.  The place was filling up with families and people at the bar and she took good, fast care of everyone.

The location is small but it was never hard to move around.
The night bartender is pure awesomeness (and cute too!). This guy is fun and makes awesome drinks. The fun part was that if you didn’t know what you wanted to drink, all you have to do is tell him a color and he will make you a drink that color! All I had to do was say blue and I had a blue mixed drink in front of me moments later. The good part is the colors never taste the same so Its like a new drink every time!

Very Clean and the bathrooms had toilet paper!

Best Burger I’ve had in… I can’t even remember how long. It was huge! I came out held together by a toothpick and from the first bite i knew it would was pure bliss. The portions are pretty big and the food is delicious.


This place is great and I will be going their again soon!
